Luke spoke to the 5th and 6th class boys about his channel , his award , the equipment he uses , the long hours of content creation and editing , the issues with copyright , how to get paid by YOUTUBE and finally how he deals with success and how he deals with negative and hate comments in such a positive way –
The classes were spellbound by this as lots already know of channels or have their own accounts. Thanks Luke for being such a positive role model and inspiration and we hope to have you back when you reach 1 million!!

Grandparents day 2024

June 18, 2024

Grandparents day 2024 was a lovely occasion at our school hall. It has always been a success in giving the opportunity to parents and grandparents to come into our school to see the boys of 2nd and 4th classes sing a few tunes and enjoy some tea / cake – well done to the classes and their teachers and SNAs who prepared them with Ms Killeen – Massive thanks to our HSCL Ann Hennelly and Betty Hogan for setting up the hall with tea coffee and buns so beautifully. Finally thanks to our audience who came in such great numbers ( over 100 in the hall ! ) and we are glad you all enjoyed it.

VEX Robotics All Ireland finals

April 7, 2024

VEX Robotics 2024
An amazing performance at the Offaly championships in February saw the St Brendans team win the Offaly title for the 2nd year in a row! The 6th class boys then travelled to Cork in March for the All Ireland finals where they came 3rd overall out of 24 teams who were champions in their county. Massive credit to Mr Cunningham and Ms Makim who gave so much of their time to support the boys in teaching them programming and design of the robot and to the boys for a great performance on the day!

March 2024- Teacher Artist partnership

Teacher artist programme success
Fantastic finale to our TAP ( teacher – artist – programme ) this week as artist Monica O Meara came to school to organise the display of the children’s work – Here’s a photo of the ‘Sculpting Smiles – Clay-laborative Wellbeing’ artwork collaboration under the TAP programme with support from Laois Education Centre – The boys in 3rd and 4th classes had an amazing time over the past number of weeks and great credit to class teachers Ms Wyer and Mr Kennedy for their work supporting this –
It’s a fantastic piece of art which all the boys can view each day and see their work and little initials in engraved in the hands – We are proud that this pupil art creation is displayed proudly at our school and will hopefully inspire generations to follow—
Thank you so much Monica O’Meara ( Artist) and Laois Education centre.
