Our Literacy Lift Off programme is currently running in first, second, third and fourth classes. This programme allows our pupils to develop their literacy skills in a small group setting. The boys really enjoy the sessions and are exposed to a large variety of books covering a vast array of topics.

Sports Hall Athletics Sept 2013
Sports Hall Athletics are athletic activities that can be performed indoors. Each Monday our pupils participate in athletic sessions doing circuits based on running, jumping, balancing, turning, speed, agility and aerobic fitness. These activities are performed in a fun and relaxed manner and the coaches play games with the pupils using all the listed activities.
Cross Country Athletics Sept 2013
Mr. Carroll brought 4 teams from the school to the cross country athletics event held in the grounds of Tullamore Harriers. Teams made up from boys from third, fourth, fifth and sixth classes travelled. The boys enjoyed the experience very much with all pupils running extremely well. Fifth class brought home gold medals in the group event, third class got the bronze in their group event and Nathan Williams winning individual gold in the fifth class race.
Fruit Scheme Sept 2013
Our Fruit Scheme is up and running again this year. The boys really enjoy getting their daily fruit ration. Thanks to Margaret and her wonderful parents who on a daily basis give of their time and energy to prepare and deliver the fruit to the classrooms.
Football V Tullamore Sept 2013
Two teams travelled to Tullamore to play Gaelic Football against teams from Scoil Mhuire. The boys had a great day with one team winning and the other team were very unlucky to be narrowly beaten. Great skills were on display and the boys represented our school excellently. Thanks to Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Crofton who travelled with the teams.
Hurling Coaching Sept 2013
Hurling Coaching started again this year again with Johnny and Barry. The boys enjoy their weekly sessions learning new skills and using those already learned in game situations.
New Infants Sept 2013
We welcomed our new infants in September. We hope they enjoy their journey through the school. We hope they enjoy all the work and play along the way.
Sept 2013 Postcard Literacy Project
We had a great response to our Postcard Literacy Project. Pupils were asked to send a postcard to the school from anywhere they had visited during the summer. There was a great response with cards arriving having a local, national and international connection. The project also developed the pupils geographical and historical knowledge. The cards were displayed in the school and pupils showed a great interest in reading them.
